100% Pinot Noir from carefully selected premium blocks within the Cairnmuir and Felton Road vineyards located in the Bannockburn sub-region of Central Otago.
Pre-fermentation maceration took place over 5 days, with fermentation peaking at 31°C. Punch downs took place twice daily and post fermentation maceration lasted 6 days. The wine spent 10 months in French barriques, 30% of which were new.
Displays the typically intense black fruit flavours, complexity, and fine tannins that Bannockburn Pinot Noir has become so renowned for. Aromatically sweet spice mingles with dark fruit and an underlying earthiness. The palate is finely balanced with red and black fruits, spices and a brambly earthiness. Finely textured tannins lead to a persistent and elegant finish.
