LOW STOCKS? TRY 2016 VINTAGE
100% Pinot Noir sourced from the Akarua Estate vineyard in Central Otago.
Fruit was cold soaked for 5 days before fermentation, punched down twice daily and given another 6 days on the skins post fermentation. The wine then spent 6 months ageing in 100% French oak barrique, 10% new, with the balance in older wood.
A typically Central Otago Pinot Noir, with a core of juicy red berry fruit and uninhibited by heavy oak influence. The bouquet has bright, lifted cherry aroma’s with lifted floral and violet notes. On the palate, it is well-defined exhibiting juicy red fruits. Light, soft tannins complement the savoury highlights and the finish is long and bright.
