Carrick Pinot Noir 2015

100% Pinot Noir from Carrick's vineyards in the Bannockburn region of Central Otago. Certified organic.

Fermented in small open top fermenters, and typically has a 5 day pre-ferment cold soak, with punch downs throughout fermentation, then 5 to 7 days extended maceration. Fermentation occurs naturally and the wine is matured for 12 months in French oak, of which about 15% is new. Malolactic fermentation occurs in the spring; the lots are then selected and blended before bottling without fining or filtration.

Winemaker's Comments

The Carrick Bannockburn Pinot Noir has become known for its structure and its ability to age well. This 2015 vintage displays an abundance of fragrance in the glass, underpinned by a silkiness in the tannin structure that integrates nicely with nice oak spice.
