Clos Henri Sauvignon Blanc 2016

100% Sauvignon Blanc grown in certified organic sites located in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough.

Fermentation occurred in 90% stainless steel and 10% old French oak barrels. The wine was then aged on fine yeast lees for 8 months with lees stirring, both of which enable a rounded Sauvignon Blanc with body and mouthfeel.

Winemaker's Comments

Refined and complex showing some citrus notes evolving into while peach aromas, with underlying chalky minerality. Delicate on the palate, it is textural and rich from the lees ageing with layers of minerals, citrus and profound acidity balancing this dry and elegant wine, followed by a long finish.

"Clos Henri's 2016 Sauvignon Blanc marries hints of snap peas and thyme with passion fruit and white grapefruit. It's a medium-bodied, silky-textured version of Marlborough SB that saw a small portion of oak aging and substantial lees aging to build textural richness. Lemon and grapefruit notes linger on the finish."
