100% Pinot Gris from Isabel Estate's own Marlborough vineyard.
Fruit was harvested in several parcels, some of which underwent a cold soak and some whole bunch pressed. All fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. The ferments were stopped when taste, dryness, acidity and weight were all in harmony. The juice underwent some lees stirring to enhance mouth-feel and texture.
A bounty of rich aromas: nectarine, white pear, clover honey and hints of coconut. Strong mineral definition, yet a supple mouth-feel and good length due to the gentle lees stirring. The palate is complex with persimmon, red apple, a hint of white pepper and a faint suggestion of rose petal. Isabel has returned to the modern Alsatian style of Pinot Gris, hinting towards a drier and more mineral focused wine.
