100% Merlot sourced from the premium Gimblett Gravels area of Hawkes Bay.
Fruit was destemmed into stainless steel fermenters for a 5-day cold soak. Hand plunged and occasionally pumped over, then following primary fermentation kept in contact with skins until the right extraction and balance was achieved. After pressing and settling, racked to seasoned American oak and underwent malolactic fermentation.
A floral, deeply coloured, single-vineyard Gimblett Gravels red; American oak-matured. Mouthfilling on the palate and fleshy with fresh generous blackcurrant and plum flavours, it is fruity and smooth.
