100% Grüner Veltliner from a vineyard located in the Rapaura area of Marlborough. This is a new variety in New Zealand which shows great promise.
Fruit was destemmed, crushed, pressed and then press-cut. The pressings were then handled oxidatively. The wine was cool-fermented, with 20% in French oak puncheons to add a hint of richness, and the balance in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then recombined and bottled.
Wonderful, pure aromatics exemplifying classic notes of mandarin, ripe peach and white pepper. With a lengthy textural finish, the wine delights the palate.
