Vidal Legacy Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2009

76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Merlot from the renowned Gimblett Gravels region of Hawke's Bay.

Fruit was destemmed and crushed. Combination of hand plunging and pumping over. Fermentation in open and closed top fermenters at 30 to 34ºC. Underwent 20 to 30 days on skins with maturation in 50% new French oak barriques for 20 months.

Winemaker's Comments

Reflects an exceptional growing season. Delightfully perfumed, it shows a textured core of deep, dark fruit purity with underlying spice. Well balanced with great length, it will evolve beautifully over time.
