100% Chardonnay from a selection of premium Marlborough vineyards on the gravels of the Wairau Valley floor and additionally, a site on gentle north facing clay soils of the Ben Morven Valley (Southern Valleys).
Underwent barrel fermentation of which 50% was left to ferment naturally. The remainder was inoculated with traditional isolated yeast strains. Matured for 14 months in fine grained 30% new oak barrels.
This sleek Marlborough Chardonnay reflects site and a sensitive approach to winemaking. Fragrant citrus, complex flint and nut aromas combine with a distinctive core of mineral, lemon and mealy characters to form a seamless palate. Fine grained French oak and refined acidity create a tightly woven palate with understated concentration and length.
