100% Pinot Noir from two terraces in the Seddon Vineyard, nestled on the southern bank of Marlborough's Awatere River.
The grapes were destemmed and then fermented in an open top fermenter. The wine was matured in 30% new fine-grained French oak barrels for 16 months. Minimal egg white fining and filtration took place before bottling. The uniqueness of the site, together with expert vineyard management, have produced fruit of outstanding quality.
Crafted using a minimalist approach, the resulting Pinot Noir is intriguingly rich and complex, displaying both purity and subtle power. The bouquet is charming, with perfumed ripe cherries, dark plum and enticing floral aromas; it is concentrated and displays deep layers of fruit. The palate is refined with fine grainy tannins and an alluring velvety texture, finishing with finesse and a harmonious balance.
