100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Maxwell Vineyard situated in the exceptional Southern Clays area, nestled in the gentle north facing foothills of the Ben Morven Valley in Marlborough.
Upon harvesting the juice received a long and cool fermentation to retain the fruit's intense varietal characters. The wine was aged on yeast lees for 4 months to enhance palate texture and complexity before bottling.
Powerful aromas of boxwood and passionfruit combine with underlying green capsicum and subtle flinty notes. The palate is full and rich exploding with blackcurrant leaf, grapefruit and complexing mineral characters. The intense fruit notes are complemented by a finely woven acidity, creating a long lingering finish.
