Villa Maria Cellar Selection Syrah 2007 from the renowned Gimblett Gravels region in Hawkes Bay was voted Top New Zealand Syrah (5 Stars) by Cuisine Magazine in 2009. The nose is layered with sweet blueberry, red plum and peppery spice aromas, underpinned by an aromatic violet lift. The palate is medium-bodied with a juicy and supple texture, finishing with rich, silky tannins and generous length. Approachable now but will age gracefully for the next 5 to 7 years.
