        Pinot Noir

New Zealand Pinot Noir has been steadily making an international name for itself for many years now; a place where Old World structure and elegance meets New World power and intensity.

Native to Burgundy and notoriously fickle (it is world class only in cool-climate regions), the Pinot Noir grape has found in New Zealand a home away from home. Their winemakers tease a tantalising array of distinctive regional and terroir-driven styles from the land.

It is predominantly grown in the cooler southerly regions. The huge diversity in climates and soils enables a wide range of styles from the five main Pinot producing regions, and it is now second only to Sauvignon Blanc in production volume, with major plantings in five key regions.

        About Us

Founder Kelvin McLeod, a fifth generation New Zealander, first established The New Zealand House of Wine in 2003 wanting to make a wider selection of great NZ wines easily available to the UK market.

Now, over a decade on, we remain a fully independent and family-owned UK online retailer, specialising in high quality boutique wines created with integrity by top-class producers.

We have been awarded 'Specialist Merchant of the Year for New Zealand' at the International Wine Challenge (the "Wine Oscars") no less than eight times - a huge honour, and also twice short-listed for 'Specialist Merchant of the Year' at the Decanter World Wine Awards.

Our aim is to provide a convenient way to access the best range of New Zealand wine in the UK. Our extensive selection may be ordered in any quantity and mixed-and-matched. Delivery throughout mainland UK.
