Pencarrow Estate Pinot Noir 2011

Pencarrow Estate Pinot Noir 2011 from the Martinborough region is the very impressive second label from Palliser Estate. It has a tightly bound, intense and penetrating nose of ripe black fruits with dark herb and spice notes as well as violet-like florals. Medium-full bodied, the palate shows flavours of black fruits and florals, concentrated and densely packed and supported by fine-grained but firm tannins. Sensitive oaking and youthful acidity carry the flavours on a long, lingering finish, featuring spicy black fruits and hints of liquorice. Will continue to develop for another 4 to 5+ years.
