New Zealand Verdelho - The characteristics of Verdelho varies according to climate, growing conditions and winemaking technique. Usually aromatic and high in alcohol and acidity, it can be rich, herbaceous, spicy and nutty with tropical fruit flavors. In Portugal, Verdelho is a major component in the famous Madeira wines, whereas in other regions such as New Zealand these grapes are transformed into a drier fruitier style.
