Greywacke Wine

Greywacke Wine is the fulfillment of a long-held dream for the pioneering ex-Cloudy Bay winemaker, Kevin Judd.  The name Greywacke was adopted for the first Marlborough vineyard in Rapaura, named in recognition of the high prevalence of rounded greywacke rive stones in the soil of the vineyard.

 

This is a quality-focused winemaking venture, sourcing fruit from mature vineyards within the central Wairau Plains and the Southern Valleys. These prime viticultural sites are cultivated using yield-restricting vineyard management techniques and intense canopy management regimes.
