100% Riesling from the Cowslip Valley vineyard in the Waihopai Valley of Marlborough; a superior site perfectly suited to creating good body and complex flavours.
Fruit was harvested at low Brix. The free run juice was fermented separately in stainless steel tanks to retain aromatic varietal character, with various different yeasts and at different temperatures. The ferments were stopped before completion to retain the level of natural sweetness that perfectly balances the acidity.
Aromas of orange and lime blossom layered with mineral notes. The palate is finely focused and varietal, again with orange blossom, and also hints of mineral/slate. A typically juicy Marlborough Riesling with a dry finish.
