100% Syrah blended using multiple parcels from Craggy Range's Gimblett Gravels vineyard in the Hawkes Bay region.
Hand harvested 15% whole bunch and 85% destemmed fruit was fermented in stainless steel tanks, inoculated fermentation. 17 months maturation in 22% new French oak barriques. Filtration followed by bottling.
Fresh aromas of blueberry and boysenberry meld with complex hints of baking spices, sage and lavender. The wine glides across the palate with a denseness and elegance to the black fruited core along with complimentary fine, dusty tannins, typical of the red wines from the Gimblett Gravels.
