100% Syrah blended using multiple parcels from Craggy Range's Gimblett Gravels vineyard in the Hawkes Bay region.
5% whole bunch and 95% destemmed fruit was fermented in stainless steel tanks, inoculated fermentation. 17 months maturation in 22% new French oak barriques. Filtration followed by bottling.
Produced from the gravelly soils of the Gimblett Gravels, this wine has complex aromatics of boysenberry, black pepper, cedar, anise and garrigue herbs. The palate is beautifully poised with the richness and dark berry ripeness balanced with fine acidity and superb fine minerally tannins, finishing dry and long.
