100% Syrah grown on stony Hawkes Bay vineyard sites.
Fruit was hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel and concrete open topped fermenters. The destemmed fruit was fermented with both cultured and indigenous yeasts and macerated on skins at the completion of fermentation. The wine was then transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing.
This is a very varietal wine displaying classic Hawkes Bay Syrah notes of red fruits, pepper and exotic spice notes with subtle oak integration. Medium-bodied and food friendly with excellent ageing potential.
