Schubert Pinot Noir Block B 2014

100% Pinot Noir grown in Block B of Schubert's vineyards located in the Wairarapa region.

Fruit was hand-picked with careful selection of grapes. 100% destemmed, cold-maceration and fermentation in stainless steel vats and left on skins for 3 weeks. Aged in 45% new and 55% used French oak barriques for 18 months.

Winemaker's Comments

Lifted aromas of wild berries with hints of aromatic spices, truffles, a trace of forest floor with a lingering note of tobacco. A beautiful entrance of wild blackberries and cherries leading to a rich velvety texture of dark Ghana chocolate, underlying toasted spices and a fine minerality. The finish is powerful  showing well-structured tannins and pure finesse.
