100% Malbec from two select parcels of fruit from Te Awa's Gimblett Gravels vineyards in Hawkes Bay.
After picking in the cool of morning, the grapes were gently processed to open top fermenters. Fermentation ensued after a few days of cold soak on the skins. The young wine was drained to tank prior to barrelling down for 18 months maturation in French oak barrels. After blending it was gently stabilised and bottled.
A Malbec which takes you on a journey down a dark alleyway, where the brooding and intense characters of blackberry and liquorice meet the heroically proportioned mass of dark chocolate, draped in smooth fine velvet.
