100% Syrah grown entirely in the renowned Gimblett Gravels grape growing district of Hawkes Bay.
Fruit was destemmed and crushed. Cap was managed by hand plunging. Fermentation in open top fermenters at temperatures of 30-34ºC. Spent 32 days on skins with maturation for 20 months in 38% new French oak barriques. Minimal egg white fining and minimal filtration. Only 500 cases produced.
An enticingly fragrant Syrah displaying intense aromatics of dark rose, plum, herb garden and underlying spice. The rich and concentrated palate of dark cherry and plum combine with savoury oak complexity. Elegantly balanced, and finely textured with chalky tannins this wine finishes long. Distinct and age-worthy.
