100% Syrah from Vidal's Omahu Gravels Vineyard situated in the heart of the acclaimed Gimblett Gravels region of Hawkes Bay.
Destemmed fruit was lightly crushed and fermented in small batches. During ferment the must was gently hand-plunged and pumped over the skins. Pressed off and run to barrel where malolactic fermentation completed over the spring period. Aged in French oak for 20 months.
This deeply coloured Syrah expresses aromas of dark red fruits, black pepper, spice and florals. Showing good fruit intensity, depth of flavour and length this wine is well balanced and supported by fine approachable tannins.
