100% Riesling from a selected block in Wairau River’s Rapaura vineyard situated next to the winery which was left to botrytis.
The dry, even weather allowed the grapes to become partially raisined, producing a particularly concentrated and fine example of botrytised Riesling. Fruit was hand-picked and after careful selection and delicate pressing the juice was transferred to seasoned French oak barriques and stainless steel for fermentation.
Intensely concentrated luscious flavours stack the palate of this wine. The botrytis concentration is classic, defined by a honeyed toastiness that mingles with the fruit derived marmalade and dried apricot characters. A remarkable wine that will endure and evolve over many years.
