100% Sauvginon Blanc from Individual parcels from Awatere and Wairau Valley vineyards
Yealands Baby Doll name derived from the tiny sheep kept on the vineyards. These environmentally friendly helpers play a big role in keeping the vineyard in tip top shape. Luckily they are not quite big enough to reach the grapes, but do create better an environment which helps create a fantastic wine!
The grapes were harvested and fermented separately, using selected yeast strains for Sauvignon Blanc to enhance varietal character. A long, cool fermentation took place over four weeks, with the parcels then being blended and stabilised, prior to bottling.
The sweet fruit characters on the palate, together with the fresh acidity, create an expressive Sauvignon Blanc that’s beautiful with barbequed fresh seafood.
