Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2016

100% Sauvignon Blanc fruit grown in the Marlborough region. Meticulous viticultural practices include low cropping and hand-harvested grapes.

Ex-Cloudy Bay winemaker/viticulturist James Healy and Ivan Sutherland embody the spirit of winemaking by combining their experience and passion with old world philosophies and new world technologies. For this wine, fermentation took place using a small proportion of indigenous yeasts, with maturation in stainless steel for 60 days on yeast lees.

Winemaker's Comments

Classic strong citrus characters with lemon and grapefruit prominent, complimented by elderflowers, with smoky and flinty undertones. A juicy and vibrant palate of pure citrus flavours leaving a lengthy finish with refreshing, balanced acidity.

Michael Cooper Buyers' Guide to NZ Wines - Review Notes:
"The classy 2016 vintage is highly scented, very fresh and vibrant. Weighty, it has searching, ripe grapefruit/lime flavours, firm acid spine and a dry, lasting finish. Highly concentrated and tightly structured, it's a very harmonious wine, arguably the best vintage yet."
