Esk Valley's Pinot Noir is an elegant, silky, complex style of Pinot from the upper reaches of the Awatere Valley and the Southern Hills sub-region of the Wairau in Marlborough.

Fruit was hand-picked and aged in French oak barriques before blending and bottling.

Esk Valley is a high quality Hawke's Bay winery, and with one of New Zealand's most experienced winemakers at the helm, Gordon Russell, (plus developments in the cellar and vineyard), its wines from Hawke's Bay (including the famous Gimblett Gravels) and Marlborough just keep getting better and better. An estate to watch.

"Esk Valley's 2018 Pinot Noir combines Wairau and Awatere fruit. It's medium-ruby in hue and light to medium-bodied, with lively red fruit flavors and bright acids on the silky finish. Pretty and delicate in style..." robertparker.com

SILVER MEDAL - Marlborough Wine Show 2018

4 STARS (Excellent) - Michael Cooper Buyer's Guide to NZ Wines

"The attractive 2017 vintage is a single-vineyard red, grown in the Omaka Valley and matured for 11 months in French oak barriques (16 per cent new). Bright ruby, it is fragrant, mouthfilling and supple, with generous, vibrant, cherryish, plummy flavours, showing good complexity, and a well-rounded finish. Offering good value, it's a drink-now or cellaring proposition."

87 Points - robertparker.com

Sensual aromatics and flavours of red fruits, plum and cherry with a subtle oak influence. Powerful, yet elegant, with an underlying acidity which makes it a fine match with food.
