Auntsfield Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019
Sweet and succulent, with ripe plum, cherry and spice flavours, nutty and savoury, with a good tannic backbone. Finishes long.
|Grape Blend||Pinot Noir 100%|
Auntsfiled's Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018 is a quintessential Kiwi Pinot style from a very good Marlborough vintage, characterised by concentrated fruit from low yields. Rich, silky, deep and beautifully textured - a stunning rendition.
Auntsfield's Pinot is hand-harvested and hand-sorted by family members and the care, attention and devotion shines through in the quality of the grapes and fine red wine, which is aged in French oak barriques for approximately 10 months.
Auntsfield continues the proud heritage of being Marlborough's first vineyard and winery established in 1873, and their Single Vineyard wines are made from grapes solely grown at the estate.
"The impressively endowed 2019 Single Vineyard Pinot Noir shows oodles of black cherries and plums on the nose. What oak there might be is in the background, leaving the fruit to shine. It's medium to full-bodied, silky and ripe, with unusual concentration for a 2018 and surprising length." robertparker.com
Lovely floral, perfumed nose, with black fruits to the fore and some savouriness. Deep, rich and concentrated in the mouth, yet restrained and elegant at the same time – great balance. Sweet and succulent, with ripe plum, cherry and spice flavours, nutty and savoury, with a good tannic backbone. Finishes long.
