Mt Difficulty Late Harvest Pinot Gris 2012 (Dessert wine, half bottle)
A late harvest Pinot Gris, this rich and luscious wine is full of, confected fruit flavours of citrus, peach, nectarine and passionfruit., Intense fruits burst through onto the palate with more tropical flavours, of mango and pineapple with the citrus and stone fruit flavours. Afresh acidity cuts through the residual sugar to stop it from being, cloying and leaves a sweet but crisp impression on the finish. Back to Mt Difficulty wine

Mt Difficulty Late Harvest Pinot Gris is 100% Pinot Gris from the Mansons Farm vineyard in Bannockburn, Central Otago. Only produced in exceptional seasons and this vintage was one of these; the wet spell in mid March brought some botrytis, adding complexity to the ripe fruit, which was hand harvested and processed carefully. The juice was racked clean and fermented slowly to retain varietal expression. Chilling and racking the wine stopped the ferment, leaving residual sugar to provide balance and richness to the wine. , A late harvest Pinot Gris, this rich and luscious wine is full of, confected fruit flavours of citrus, peach, nectarine and passionfruit. "...the easy-drinking 2012 vintage (3.5*) is a bright, light yellow/green, mouthfilling, sweet wine (95 grams/litre of residual sugar), with ripe pear and spice flavours, woven with gently acidity, and a smooth, lingering finish." Michael Cooper
3.5 Stars - Michael Cooper
Rich, luscious, intense sweet wine with lashings of citrus, peach, mango, nectarine and passionfruit flavours flowing into the mouth. Fresh and vibrant, with mouthwatering acidity to balance and prevent cloying, with a crisp, sweet finish.
