Felton Road Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2015

100% Pinot Noir blended from three vineyards; Cornish Point, Calvert and The Elms, located in the Bannockburn sub-region of Central Otago.

Unique gravity flow enabled the fruit to be gently destemmed directly into open-top fermenters without pumping, with approximately 25% whole clusters. Traditional fermentation with a moderately long maceration on skins extracted good colour and tannin with considerable depth of flavour. Aged for 13 months in French oak barrels from artisan Burgundian coopers. In accordance with Felton Road's non-interventionalist approach, the wine was fermented with indigenous yeast and not fined or filtered.

Winemaker's Comments

Dark cherry, rosehip and wafts of perfumed leather lead into notes of omega plum, cinnamon spice, nutmeg and dried thyme on the palate. Seamless tannins are immediately embracing with a rich engaging fruitiness coating the finish. A complete and harmonious Pinot Noir that accurately epitomises its fine vineyard origins.
